¡Buena noticia! El verbo es igual para todas las personas (I, you, he, she, we, they). La única excepción es el verbo be (was / were).

Cómo se formaEjemplo
Afirmativasujeto + verbo en pasadoI / You / He / She / We / They watched a film last night.
Negativasujeto + didn't + verbo normalI / You / He / She / We / They didn't save any money.
PreguntaDid + sujeto + verbo normal?Did you / he / she / we / they receive a letter?
  • She played tennis yesterday.
    Ella jugó al tenis ayer.
  • We didn't buy anything.
    No compramos nada.
  • Did you see Brad last week?

✅ She didn't go — ❌ She didn't went.

4. Past simple: be (was / were)

AfirmativaNegativaPregunta
I / He / She / Itwaswasn'tWas he...?
You / We / Theywereweren'tWere you...?
  • I was tired after the match.
    Estaba cansado después del partido.
  • They weren't at home.
    No estaban en casa.
  • Were you scared? – Yes, I was.
    ¿Estabas asustado? – Sí.

⚠️ Con was / were NO se usa did: ✅ Were you bored? — ❌ Did you be bored?

5. There was / There were

Es el pasado de there is / there are. Significa «había» o «hubo».

Usamos there was con singular e incontables, y there were con plural.

SingularPlural
AfirmativaThere was a record shop. There were lots of people.
NegativaThere wasn't a cinema.There weren't any shops.
PreguntaWas there a park? Were there any phones?
  • There was a record shop on the high street.
  • There were lots of people at the concert.
Había mucha gente en el concierto.

yesterdayayer
last week / last year / last nightla semana pasada / el año pasado / anoche
ten years agohace diez años
in 2017 / in the summeren 2017 / en verano
this morningesta mañana
at lunchtimea la hora de comer
  • We went to Euro Disney in the summer.
Fuimos a Euro Disney en verano.
  • She didn't have breakfast this morning.
    No desayunó esta mañana.

⚠️ ago va detrás del tiempo: two days ago (hace dos días). Y nunca the last week: se dice last week, sin «the».
